Flora learns to count using everyday objects such as buttons and choosing them based on their colour. In this way she is practicing her problem-solving skills (see here) by combining it with Maths and Numeracy(see here). In order for Flora to understand the activity better, she uses symbols.
I need:
buttons
icebox
pen
paper
1. I make the symbols
2. I turn over the numbered cards and choose the colour of the buttons I want.
3. I got number 1
4. I got number 2
5. I got number 3
You can use beads instead of buttons.
